The homepage for Don Bassingthwaite, Writer
Inspired by Dave Keck‘s posting of a recent (and strange) fortune cookie fortune, I share with you the eerily appropriate fortune I got this weekend.
Hah!! That’s a good one.
I usually have a big problem with fortune cookie “fortunes,” because rarely do they give you a fortune anymore. Nowadays, they’re just goofy proverbs, and say nothing about what actually lies in your future.
My favorite fortune was: “Your fortune is in another cookie.”
Po-mo fortunes. Soon they’ll just be blank slips of paper laid across a disk of raw dough.
I was also mightily impressed that the restaurant served tasty little almond cookies alongside the fortune cookies (for foodies, almond cookies were served in the 40s and 50s before the advent of fortune cookies).
That is the coolest
I always seem to get lame fortunes like “your smile is your best asset”. Oh well…
Doom of Kings was pretty epic! I can’t wait for the next one..
I love it!
